Read tables, bar graphs and line graphs accurately, including titles, axis labels, units, legends and the direction of each variable
Work out from the text which data point or comparison the question requires instead of scanning the whole figure
Choose the option that both reads the data correctly and completes the argument the text is making
Reject choices whose figures are accurate but irrelevant to the claim, and choices that make the right point but misread the data
Handle approximate values, ranges and trends when the text describes data in words (for example "roughly doubled" or "remained stable")
