Learning objectives

Define the terms record, field, primary key and validation as they apply to a single-table database, and explain why a primary key must be unique

Choose an appropriate field type — text, character, Boolean, integer, real or date and time — for each field of a described table

Write an SQL script that uses SELECT, FROM and WHERE to return the records that satisfy a stated condition, including conditions joined by AND and OR

Extend a query with ORDER BY to sort the output and with SUM and COUNT to summarise it, and state which fields the query will display

Read an SQL script written by somebody else, predict the output it produces from a given table, and correct a script that does not return the records intended
